For organisations
£100,609
Cut-off date for starting applications is 6 May at 5.00pm. Deadline for submissions below:
10 May | 5pm

Eligibility

Applications from organisations that are running a commercial business as their primary objective, but also have charitable status, will not be considered. Such organisations are likely to include theatres, art galleries and museums aimed at the paying public. In addition, applications from institutions of higher education will not be considered. If in doubt, please contact the Operations and Grants Manager before making an application.

Who can apply

Local organisations

The Charity welcomes applications from registered charities and charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs) in Westminster or those in neighbouring boroughs that assist Westminster residents.

National organisations

Important Information

In 2019 the Trustees took the decision to discontinue funding for national charities. This policy will continue indefinitely. Trustees will continue to consider funding for Westminster charities and local charities in neighbouring boroughs who help significant numbers of Westminster residents.  If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact the Operations and Grants Manager.

What we fund

Funding is available for the following areas:

  • Addiction
  • Children and youth
  • Community
  • The elderly
  • Health and disability
  • Homelessness

Grants are available for:

  • Specific capital costs
  • Revenue funding (including core costs)
  • Specific project/service costs

The main criterion is that the project or service you seek funding for must aim to benefit a significant number of needy Westminster residents.

It is a requirement of the Charity that you enable one of our representatives to visit the activity/project and that you provide a report to confirm how the grant was used.

Westminster Amalgamated Charity awards one-off grants only and does not award recurring grants. A fresh application will need to be submitted for each request.

How to apply

Privacy Policy

The Charity cannot respond to general letters of appeal - you must make a direct application using the online form below.

If you are a new applicant, it will be necessary to meet with you before any application can be submitted to Trustees.

We recommend you submit your application in plenty of time. Applications arriving just before or on the deadline date run the risk of being deferred to the next meeting, as there will be insufficient time to resolve any queries.

If your application is successful, you will be required to send us a monitoring report once the project has finished. In any case, a report must be sent to us before making a further application. You are welcome to attach it in the application form below. If no monitoring report has been received prior to reapplying or attached with the form, we regret that we cannot accept your application.

Our new database is now live and the Application Form can be accessed via the button below. You will need to register before making an application.

If you have any queries relating to applications, please email wac@3chars.org.uk
